The Good Seed Community Development Corp is proud to provide a program called the “Construction Apprenticeship Program” for transition-age youth through the construction arm of Good Seed. The Construction Apprenticeship Program (CAP) provides vocational training for clients to learn residential drafting and construction practices. Our youth learn how to construct precise and useful construction documents for building, as well as to show their clients building plans in 3D with real time adjustments and detail. This vocational training opportunity is a chance for our clients to make money and learn a valuable skill at the same time!
Anyone who is a client with the Good Seed has the chance to participate in this program as well as referrals that Good Seed receives from service providers in the area who are homeless or at risk for homelessness. Clients spend up to a year learning construction skills along with formal classroom instruction which then allows them to move on and apply for positions while already having practical experience under their belts. Many clients who are motivated to earn more money and work with large construction firms are encouraged to take additional classes at community colleges such as Los Angeles Trade Tech College.
